Mahmood Shubbak is a PhD candidate within the young research group “Technology and Innovation”. He gained his Masters degree in Information and Communication Technology Management from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK in 2014, and his Bachelor degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the German Jordanian University, Jordan in 2012. In his Masters thesis, he developed and implemented a new software tool for identifying and managing levels of risk in end-user computing applications, such as spreadsheets.

As a mechatronics engineer, Mr. Shubbak attended courses in mechanics, electronics, computer science, and control systems. His bachelor graduation project was to design and build an autonomous ground vehicle, in which he created an artificial intelligence algorithm for robot path-planning and sensor-fusion.

Mr. Shubbak is interested in intelligent systems, machine learning, robotics, and their technologies and diffusion patterns in different economic systems.
