Since May 01, 2017 Mariia Shkolnykova is a PhD candidate in the working group of Prof. Dr. Jutta Günther at the University of Bremen. She studied Management at the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg (M.Sc. 2016) and Management of Foreign Economic Activity in Donetsk National Technical University, Ukraine (M.Sc. 2015). Her master thesis dealt with the influence of behavioral biases from the side of the producer on the product quality, which is especially important in the case of new products. During her studies, Ms. Shkolnykova did an internship in a healthcare firm and worked as a student assistant at the University in Magdeburg.

In her dissertation, she engages in investigating the technological trajectories of biotechnology in Germany, based on patent data, and is following its relation to the development of bioeconomy.
